In future, it should be possible to switch the long-term statistics (history recorder) on and off simply via the user interface. A first draft for this long overdue change was rejected. In this first draft, the LTS status could be displayed in the entity overview and easily activated in the entity properties. According to the design feedback, the entity overview is not the right place for settings.
